Services

Frontline Friends transforms NDIS support through gaming and technology, helping neurodivergent young adults build confidence, independence, and genuine friendships. We create safe spaces where participants feel understood whilst developing essential life skills through shared interests and person-centred care.

How our sessions work

While gaming is the shared interest, our sessions are about playing together in person. It is more like the old-school way of gaming with others in the same room, rather than gaming alone online at home.

Sessions follow a clear but relaxed flow so participants feel comfortable, supported, and engaged throughout the session:

• Social games to help everyone settle in, start conversations, and have a laugh
• Short arcade-style games to build engagement, quick wins, and light, friendly competition
• A main game that encourages teamwork, problem solving, and longer periods of focus
• Breaks and free play as needed, with support workers helping participants regulate and re-engage
• A calm wrap-up to highlight positive moments and finish the session on a good note

This approach supports real-world social connection, confidence, and routine in a way that feels natural and enjoyable. Sessions are designed to be supportive and meaningful, without feeling forced or clinical.

What community access looks like

Community access sessions are about getting out into the world together, with the right support in place. Each participant receives 1:1 support from a support worker, while taking part in activities alongside others, with support remaining individual at all times. This helps being out in the community feel enjoyable, supported, and far less overwhelming.

Gaming is often the starting point because it naturally builds trust and connection. From there, sessions can gradually open up into other shared interests as participants feel ready. This may include fitness activities, fishing, adventures, small outings, or other community experiences based on what the participant enjoys and wants to try.

Sessions are relaxed, well supported, and paced around the participant. The focus is on having positive experiences, building confidence, and feeling comfortable engaging in the community, while always knowing support is there when needed.

Who Frontline Friends Is For

Frontline Friends is designed for participants who enjoy gaming or shared activities and benefit from calm, structured support in a supportive environment. Sessions are best suited for individuals who want to build routine, confidence, and social connection through activities that feel natural and enjoyable.

Our supports work well for participants who
• Prefer smaller, calmer settings
• Benefit from clear structure and routine
• Enjoy gaming or activity-based supports
• Are comfortable engaging alongside others while receiving individual 1:1 support

To maintain a safe and positive environment, Frontline Friends may not be the right fit for participants who require high-intensity behavioural support or who may place others or equipment at risk. This helps ensure sessions remain enjoyable, well supported, and safe for everyone involved.

We’re always happy to have a conversation about suitability and offer trial sessions so participants and families can decide comfortably.
